Where did Spring go? It's Summer and we're getting ready to head out for Kentucky. Reed and Mollie tie the knot on July 17. After a dicey experience with United Airlines going to California for a wedding last February, we decided to forego the "convenience" of air travel this time around. Although grandma will not be tied to the roof of the car, we'll have a load of stuff to take so we'll be saving the extra luggage fee the airlines love to assess.
Pam has been busy making curtains for Reed and Mollie's condo in Vine Grove [a short drive from Fort Knox]. Below, Pam tries out different sizes of the tie-back thingies. Meredith and I voted for a narrower version.
Speaking of Mere, we see her fairly regularly as she finds our place more conducive to studying than her apartment--don't ask me why. Mind you, I'm not complaining. She's taking a bar exam course via the internet in preparation for the Big Kahuna at the end of July. I've got to give her credit; she studies hard every day. At that stage of my legal career, I had fallen in love and was engaged to Pam, reducing my desire to cram for the bar. Somehow, I got through it and have no doubt Mere will pass with flying colors.
On Saturday, we drove to Maddock. I would have posted a photo of our scramble team which placed 2nd in the 2010 Pederson-Legreid Tourney there. Alas, I lost almost all of them in cyberspace while transferring them from camera to computer. Posing below with one of the towels given to all participants is the best I can do.

I played on a 3-person team with Randy Simon and his son, Mark [big hitter]. The tournament was named after Ervin Pederson and Firemann Legreid to honor the untold hours they contributed to maintaining the Maddock Golf Club. Pam was there to see me choke on the last hole, missing a putt that would have tied us with the eventual winners. Stuff happens. It was a blast playing on sand greens again and the folks I met that day could not have been friendlier.
On our way to Kentucky, we hope to see spend a night at Linda and Harold's cabin in Minnesota, and the next night with Anna and J.D. in Packerland. I'm really looking forward to it and will post lots of photos upon our return--promise.
