We arrived in Newport News, Virginia just in time for lunch.

Brent was out back helping to prepare dinner, a most delicious one I might add.  He has created an outdoor kitchen in the backyard.  Water is pumped to the station from the house and the waste is used in the flower garden.

Ella shows off the new watch Pam brought for her.  While her Grandpa Keith and I were chatting Ella sat at the table with us, mostly just listening.  Then she chimed in at an appropriate moment and asked Keith to tell me about something related to our conversation.  I had to laugh since I'm unaccustomed to having precocious kids interacting with adults so easily.  Quite a girl, this one.

Keith demonstrated how Bailey reacts to spray from a hose.  He bites it!

Casen shows me his NASA tattoo.  An engineer, Andrea is working on the Ares I project at NASA.

Grandma Janet checks out the dessert orders Ella is recording.

Grandpa Keith helps Casen with some blueberry cake.

I couldn't resist posting this shot of Ella with her doll, both wearing dresses made by Janet.

The Legreid family of Virginia

We beat the rush hour traffic on the way back to DC after a most pleasant day out of the city.  We're looking forward to seeing Brent's family in Fargo later this summer.  We had an uneventful flight home, the best kind.
