Right there n Austin, Minnesota, home of Hormel, pronounced Hor' mul by the
museum employees, is the
SPAM museum. Opened in 2001, it is just down the road from Rochester,
MN.
Outside the museum, this pig farmer welcomes visitors. A tee shirt in the
gift shop proudly declares, "Not all hogs are in Sturgis." Guess
not.
Nearly 4,000 cans of SPAM form a wall above the entrance to the museum.
What's it made of? Mostly pork shoulder, they claim. There are some
things I'd rather not know.
